Xbox One X Games Details: Enhanced Games & Updates

Xbox One X Games Details: Enhanced Games & Updates is a post by Travis Pope from Gotta Be Mobile.

The new Xbox One X video game console will have tons of games when it launches this November. Some of these games are Enhanced for Xbox One X titles. Existing games will get free software updates that improve their look too.

The Xbox One X is an Xbox One console that has more power than the original. A new processor, video card and more RAM boost the console’s performance. Because it’s an Xbox One, it can play Xbox One games that are already available. Thanks to Super Sampling, Xbox One X can make every Xbox game look better.

Developers are free to add support for 4K televisions and better color to existing games. We already know of a few companies that plan to do just that. Other games will come with support for Xbox One X’s enhanced graphics when they launch. Microsoft calls games that deliver the best visuals possible on Xbox One X “Xbox One X Enhanced” titles.

The Xbox One X release date is November 7th. Expect these games to come at launch or arrive soon after it goes on sale.

Developers, not Microsoft will create and release these updates when they’re ready. These updates aren’t downloadable content. Developers will provide them for free.

Look for 30 existing games to get updates for Xbox One X. We know that Final Fantasy 15, Ghost Recon Wildlands and Resident Evil 7 have better visuals coming. Microsoft hasn’t provided a complete list of these titles yet. Expect developers to reveal their updates at news briefings over the summer.

Microsoft will update Gears of War 4, Killer Instinct, Minecraft, Forza Horizon 3 and Halo Wars 2 with 4K TV support and smoother graphics on Xbox One X.

Developers not owned by Microsoft have new Xbox One X Enhanced games coming. Xbox.com has Middle-Earth: Shadow of War and Madden NFL 18 listed as Xbox One X Enhanced games.

4K Xbox One X Games

Assassin’s Creed Origins will have 4K support on Xbox One X.

Some titles will have 4K and HDR support, but not be an official Xbox One X Enhanced game, it seems. Assassin’s Creed Origins has 4K Ultra HD and HDR compatibility. It’s not listed as an official Xbox One X Enhanced game though.

We’re still waiting on Microsoft and developers to reveal more Xbox One X Enhanced games and upcoming titles with 4K support. Xbox One X will cost $499.99 at release. Retailers are not taking Xbox One X pre-orders.
