Google adds fully detailed Mont Blanc to Street View in Google Maps
Google has teamed up with some professional adventures to map and detail most of the enormous Mont Blanc in Europe for everyone to peruse in Google Maps. This isn’t the first time they’ve added some pretty crazy destinations to Street View, but it’s certainly one of the most impressive.
Thanks to some help from skiers, guides, and alpine climbers, you can view almost all of the slopes and cliffs of the mountain, and even check out the view from the peak of the 3842 meter mountain. Since most of us probably won’t be making that trip anytime soon, it’s nice to be able to experience it secondhand thanks to the work this team put in.
While browsing through Street View here, you can see many of the adventurers and climbers captured in images, including people climbing walls, skiing, and trekking to the top of the mountain. It’s an impressive digital snapshot of the mountain and environment, but also of the hard work that these people had to have put in to make this a reality.
