If you are reading this website I am positive you know what Google Docs is. I’m also going to guess you use it yourself everyday, or at least here and there. However, one of its best features is the ability to work on projects with other people. The real question is just how far can it go?

Google set out to find exactly that, and decided to see if they could make a song using it. Not Google Docs directly making the song, but instead by bringing two artists together to co-write a song. Neither artist has met each other before, and both have unique musical styles.

Hip hop artist Lizzo and indie frontwoman Sadie Dupuis of Speedy Ortiz came together to see if Google Docs could be used to write a song together. At first they used Hangouts to talk to each other about ideas, but then headed to Google Docs to write it all down. They were able to get started quite quickly and had everything done in only a couple weeks.

After the song was done they finally met in Brooklyn to meet for the first time, and to record the new track called, “Basement Queens”. You can check out the song below, and tell us what you think in the comments.
