Money Machine Is a Fun Casual Game
There certainly isn’t a shortage of arcade games on Google Play for you to enjoy. Whether you’re looking for something entertaining or just another way to kill time, there’s something for everyone.
Money Machine is a fun casual arcade game that allows you to take a coin bulldozer with you wherever you go. While we liked the game itself, the constant barrage of ads is hard to deal with.
Concept and Gameplay
The goal of Money Machine, by MentallSoft, is simple; strategically drop cash so that the moving coin pusher pushes cash over the edge and into your bank. You’re limited on the amount of cash you can drop and once you’ve dropped everything, you have to wait for the meter to replenish.
Money Machine keeps track of the money you have earned and allows you to purchase property upgrades, business upgrades, and compare your stacked cash to that of an average sized person. The extra features are a neat way to spend money and accumulate status in the game, but they don’t do much more than that.
This lighthearted and fun game is a great way to kill some time except for the excessive advertising. Within a few seconds of playing the game for the first time it was already displaying a video ad. It’s impossible to navigate through the game without seeing an ad every time you tap a button. Ads even pop up while you’re playing.
Money Machine gives users control over aspects of the game such as sounds and the ability to reset everything so you can clear your virtual bank account.
The extra features and the ability to buy virtual goods such as businesses and properties are a plus, but you’ll never get anywhere in the game because you’ll be too busy watching an ad every few seconds.
We feel this game would garner many more downloads and overall playing time if it was geared more towards a positive player experience rather than just showing as many ads as possible.
Money Machine is available to download from Google Play for free and doesn’t include in-app purchases. While we don’t usually say that we’d rather pay to remove ads, but we think $0.99 is a fair price to be able to play the game without constant interruption.
We totally understand about fair compensation for developers but a balance is needed that avoids bombarding players with video advertisements that keep interrupting play. Hopefully the developers will realize that it’s best in the long run to tone down the frequency of the ads to increase both the number of players, and the time they play the game.
Money Machine requires Android 2.3 and up. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
