Google Will Soon Prevent New OAuth Clients from Using Web-Views

We already knew Google was shutting down support for OAuth 1.0 (2LO) on October 20th, and now we’re learning about some more changing that will be happening. October 20, 2016, Google will prevent new OAuth clients from using web-views on platforms with a “viable alternative.” Then, on April 20, 2017, Google will start blocking OAuth requests using web-views for all OAuth clients on platforms where, again, “viable alternatives exist.”
