Amazon Tap sale knocks $50 off normal price, Echo and Echo Dot also discounted
If you’re interested in trying Amazon’s Alexa assistant on the cheap, the company is now offering a few ways for you to do just that.
First up, Amazon is running a deal today only (September 18th) that’ll get you a new Amazon Tap for $79.99. That’s $50 off the device’s normal price.
The Amazon Tap is Amazon’s portable Alexa-enabled Bluetooth speaker. Because it’s portable, you’ll have to push a button on the Tap to access Alexa. The device does offer a hands-free mode that’ll let you use Alexa without touching the device, but it will drain battery life a bit faster. Amazon says that the Tap offers 9 hours of normal battery life or 8 hours with hands-free mode enabled.
Also included with the Amazon Tap is dual stereo speakers that offer 360-degree omnidirectional audio, a charging cradle, and support for all Alexa skills. This includes ordering a pizza from Domino’s, requesting a ride from an Uber, and streaming music from services like Amazon Music, Pandora, and Spotify.
Amazon is also running deals on the Amazon Echo and Echo Dot, both of which also include Alexa. You can get a refurbished Amazon Echo for $79.99, which is $85 off the device’s normal price. Also available is the refurbished Amazon Echo Dot for $37.99, which is $7 off the regular price.
