The original Huawei Watch was a stunning watch and proved that the flat tire wasn’t really necessary (despite the annoyance of not having an ambient light sensor). It was considered by many the best Android Wear watch of its time.
The Huawei Watch 2 took things into a different direction, making the watch bulkier and sportier. Gone were the classy looks, but the device itself was much improved and packed with every sensor and feature one could want. While not as influential as the original, it remains a fantastic smartwatch.
Nonetheless, the last generation watch is now a year old. The previous model was announced at MWC 2017, and a new one is absent from MWC 2018. But we are getting a successor. Huawei CEO Richard Yu says that a new version is being developed. Huawei is “in no hurry to release it” but we might see a glimpse of it soon. Hopefully at least one model will be as classy as the original Huawei Watch.
