AT&T customers, if you passed on your opportunity to enroll in Device Protection when you bought your device, you’ve now got another chance.
AT&T is offering open enrollment for its Device Protection insurance program until April 30. Normally you can only sign up for Device Protection within 30 days of your device purchase, but now customers with a device purchased outside of 30 days can sign up for insurance, too.
If you’re interested in signing up for Device Protection, you’ve got a few options available to you. Mobile Protection costs $8.99 per month per enrolled number and covers against loss, theft, damage, and out-of-warranty malfunctions of a phone or tablet. You can get as soon as next-day device replacement and as soon as same-day screen repairs for eligible phones in select cities.
The Mobile Protection Pack is the step-up option, offering the benefits of Mobile Insurance as well as personalized tech help, the ability to chat with tech experts, and 50GB of cloud storage for photos and videos. This tier is priced at $11.99 per month.
Finally, the Multi-Device Protection Pack offers all the benefits of the Mobile Protection Pack, but for up to three devices. That can include tablets and laptops not on an AT&T wireless plan, too. This tier also bumps up the cloud photo and video storage to 300GB.
Pricing for the Multi-Device Protection Pack is $34.99 per month.
Phone or tablet insurance isn’t for everyone, but for folks that are a bit clumsy or just want to be sure that their expensive device is covered from loss, theft, or malfunctions, programs like AT&T Device Protection may be worth considering.
