Nokia 5.1, 3.1, and 2.1 smartphones official

Through its manufacturing partnership with HMD Global, Nokia has launched three new smartphones, the Nokia 5.1, Nokia 3.1, and Nokia 2.1. These devices build on previous generations of Nokia devices and expand the company’s mid-range offerings. With Nokia and HMD Global both seeing successful sales performances, the two companies are continuing to work together to create high-quality, cost-effective Android devices.

Nokia 5.1

The Nokia 5.1 succeeds the Nokia 5 and is built from a single block of aluminum. Nokia has outfitted the 5.1 with the following specs:

  • 5.5-inch Full HD+ (18:9) display
  • 2.0GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P18 processor
  • 2GB/3GB RAM
  • 16GB/32GB storage plus microSD card slot
  • 16-megapixel rear camera
  • 8-megapixel wide-angle front camera
  • 3000mAh battery
  • Rear fingerprint scanner

The Nokia 5.1 is an Android One device and will launch with Android Oreo, with a guaranteed two years of OS updates and three years of security updates.

The Nokia 5.1 will launch in July with three color options of Copper, Tempered Blue, and Black. Launch markets haven’t been revealed but Nokia says that the average global retail price will be 189 Euros ($218 USD) for the 2GB/16GB model and 219 Euros ($252 USD) for the 3GB/32GB model.

The Nokia 3.1 succeeds the Nokia 3 and features a curved screen and thin aluminum sides. Nokia has equipped the 3.1 with the following specs:

  • 5.2-inch HD (18:9) display
  • 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek 6750 processor
  • 2GB/3GB RAM
  • 16GB/32GB storage plus microSD card slot
  • 13-megapixel rear camera
  • 8-megapixel front camera
  • 2990mAh battery

The Nokia 3.1 is also an Android One device and will launch with Android Oreo, with a guaranteed two years of OS updates and three years of security updates.

The Nokia 3.1 will launch in June with three color options of Blue/Copper, Black/Chrome, and White/Iron. Launch markets haven’t been revealed but Nokia says that the average global retail price will be 139 euros ($160 USD) for the 2GB/16GB model and 169 euros ($195 USD) for the 3GB/32GB model.

The Nokia 2.1 succeeds the Nokia 2 and features a polycarbonate body with metallic accents. Nokia has equipped the 2.1 with the following specs:

  • 5.5-inch HD (16:9) display
  • Snapdragon 425 processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8GB storage plus microSD card slot
  • 8-megapixel rear camera
  • 5-megapixel front camera
  • 4000mAh battery

The Nokia 2.1 is equipped with Android Oreo Go so that the built-in apps use less space than usual, data usage is minimized, and less RAM is needed to run apps smoothly.

The Nokia 2.1 will launch in July with three color options of Blue/Copper, Blue/Silver and Grey/Silver. Launch markets haven’t been revealed but Nokia says that the average global retail price will be $115 USD.

All three devices are designed to bolster Nokia’s mid-range offerings, and the Nokia 2.1 is targeted towards emerging markets.
