Pokémon GO Gen 4 Teaser & Eevee Community Days Revealed is a post by Cory Gunther from Gotta Be Mobile.

It’s been a busy few months for Niantic and Pokémon GO players, and things are about to get even more exciting. From new photos teasing a generation 4 release date, to an August Community Event that lasts for two days and features Eevee, here’s what you need to know.

This summer the long-awaited trading feature arrived in Pokémon GO. Before that, the game developers started doing community days where players can catch popular monsters, and maybe even a shiny version. Not to mention shiny Legendary Raids, MewTwo Ex Raids, and quests to obtain Mew.

If you quit playing back in 2016 or 2017, it might be a good time to jump back into the game. You’ll have a ton of catching up to do, and you’ll be right in time to start trading gifts with friends, trade for some rare regional exclusives, and more. And if you’re lucky, be here for the beginning of generation 4.

Pokémon GO Gen 4 Teasers

Ahead of Pokémon GO Fest 2018 in Chicago, the company released a photo on Twitter in honor of Pokémon GO’s second anniversary. In it, we can clearly see Gen 4 starter monsters from the Sinnoh region. These include includes Chimchar, Turtwig, and Piplup. We’ve circled them below for those interested.

This is the first potential teaser for generation 4, as Niantic has remained silent until now. Between this photo and the 2-day community day, fans and gamers think Gen 4 is finally coming.

For what it’s worth, this is the same thing Niantic did last year with Gen 3. The developers like to release a few monsters early, first, then slowly release the rest over a few months period. In 2017, generation three arrived as Halloween monsters, and eventually, the rest of them hit the streets. And the year before we received baby Pokémon in eggs from Gen 2.

Right now, Gen 1 is the only completed generation now that Mew is in the game. We’re still missing a few creatures from Gen 2 & 3, so that doesn’t mean the company isn’t ready to release the fourth. In fact, this could be the first sign that a couple of Gen 4 Pokémon will finally enter the game in July or early August.

Pokémon GO August Eevee Community Days

Yes, the August event will be multiple days, instead of just one. On July 13th Niantic confirmed the August Community Days will feature Eevee, and give players six hours total to catch a shiny variant. While this is exciting by itself, it’s another potential clue that generation 4 is almost here.

On August 11th and August 12th, Eevee will spawn in mass quantities for three hours on both days and players will get some extra Stardust for every Pokemon they catch during the mini-event. If you’re lucky, you’ll even find a shiny version of Eevee.

Whenever Gen 4 arrives Eevee gains two more evolutions in Leafeon and Glaceon, bringing the total to six. Once you combine the anniversary teaser photo above with a 2-day community day, some believe the Gen 4 release is confirmed. Suggesting that Niantic will release Chimchar, Turtwig, and Piplup sometime in July or August, then follow those three with the two new Eevee evolutions in mid-August.

This would follow the slow rollout we’ve seen from previous generations. Then, we can expect more Gen 4 monsters to arrive throughout the month of August and beyond.

Pokémon GO Gen 4 Release Date?

In closing, you’re probably wondering when the Pokémon GO Gen 4 release date actually is. Well, we’re not really sure. There’s a small chance we’ll get an announcement after GO Fest in Chicago, or something between now and August 11th.

That said, the photo above suggests something exciting is coming after all the summer events wrap up. Rumors floating around Reddit believe that the first Gen 4 monsters will be Leafeon and Glaceon during the August Community Day.

Then, if the gaming community meets the goals for GO Fest Chicago and Safari Zone Yokosuka, Niantic will unlock the “Ultra Bonus” from the image above. That Ultra Bonus could be Gen 4 starting with some of the creatures shown in recent photos on Twitter.

Basically, we don’t know when Gen 4 will arrive in Pokémon GO. However, we have a feeling they’re coming sooner than later. Stay tuned for more details and we’ll update this post as we learn more.
