Delivery apps are nothing new. We’ve had them for years. However, the majority of delivery apps deal with food. There are some excellent apps for food delivery and we link our list of the best ones just below this paragraph. However, we also wanted to do a list with apps that just delivered stuff other than restaurant food. A lot of these apps have their ups and downs. Don’t expect a flawless experience just yet. Many of these services are still building out their infrastructure. So, here are the best delivery apps for Android!

Dolly

Dolly is a delivery service for your stuff. It's actually a moving service. Most people use Dolly when moving to a new residence. However, the service boasts muscle and space for things like large Craigslist purchases, retail store pickups, donation drop-offs, and even junk removal. It's not available everywhere. In fact, there are only about a half a dozen cities in the US right now. Still, it's a decent little service that seems to work well.

Instacart

Okay, so Instacart technically delivers food. However, this one focuses more on groceries than restaurant meals. It also deals in other necessities like diapers, flowers, and more. It supports over 150 stores that include both grocery stores like Whole Foods and stores like Target. You can have basically anything from those stores delivered. Some other features include exclusive coupons, a chat function, and group shopping. It's not available everywhere, but it seems to do pretty well in places where it is available.

Postmates

Postmates delivers just about anything you want. In fact, their FAQ states that they deliver everything except controlled substances, animals, and gift cards. That's what we like to see! Postmates is available in a variety of places and the service boasts some decent features. There isn't anything wrong with the app. However, the service does have the occasional customer service and infrastructure problem. However, these are fairly common growing pains problems for these types of companies. Uber and Lyft didn't get great overnight either.

Saucey

Saucey is a different kind of delivery app. They deliver booze and that's all they deliver. You can order beer, wine, or stronger stuff if you want. It's a fairly straightforward process. They do mark up prices quite a bit, but try to make up for it by not charging a delivery fee. Sometimes you still get a service charge though. What we're saying is that the pricing structure of this service is still a little rough around the edges and you should take it into consideration.

Traditional delivery services

Traditional delivery apps still exist, of course. We're talking about UPS, USPS, FedEx, and similar services. They do the same old stuff they've always done. You walk in with a package, and they take it where it needs to go. Most of these services have home pickup services as well. Thus, you can get them to come to your door. It's not quite the same as something like Postmates or Instacart. However, they do delivery basically anything as long as it's packaged correctly and you pay the fees. That counts!

Individual store delivery apps

Many stores have their own delivery services now. Publix has one that works through Instacart. Other local grocery chains like Kroger are experimenting with delivery as well. Many retail chains like Best Buy and Value City have same day delivery or delivery services to transport their wares around town if needed. It's a little bit inconsistent and these services aren't available everywhere. Still, you can ask stores in your area if they support delivery. It's not the guaranteed no that it used to be.

Many delivery services don't work in most cities. However, some companies don't even try. They set up shop in a specific city and operate specifically to that city. The one we linked services Chicago specifically. We recommend searching Google Play with your city name to see what pops up. These apps are more difficult to find and test. However, it might work out for the best if nothing else is available in your area.
