Essential Phone updated with latest September security patch

By | 4th September 2018

Essential has made it a tradition to release updates for its devices on the same day as Google releases them for the Pixel line. Whether it’s security patches or even the official Android Pie update, Essential is almost always on time.

Today is no different, as the Essential Phone is now being updated to the September security patch. This announcement comes mere hours after Google releases the security patch info and updates for its own line of phones. The update also features audio and accessibility fixes. We don’t know what the audio fixes are, but we hope it’s for the abnormally high minimum volume when using headphones.

If you own one of these devices, head to Settings > System > Advanced > System update and download the latest update! It’s only 81.4MB so don’t be afraid to download it on mobile data.
