AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss is a new protection plan for Apple's iPhone devices. As the name suggests, it covers you if your iPhone is stolen or lost in addition to covering incidents of screen damage or other accidental damage. One thing to keep in mind is that the theft and loss coverage requires you to have Find My iPhone enabled on your device at the time it's lost or stolen.

Pricing for the new AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss starts at $199 for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 and goes up to $249 for the iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone Xr. Folks who buy the new iPhone Xs or iPhone Xs Max will have to pony up $299 for the new AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss coverage.

With this plan, you'll pay $29 for screen damage repair or $99 for any other accidental damage, which are the same prices as the base AppleCare+ plan. If your phone is lost or stolen, you'll need to pay $199 for a new iPhone 8, iPhone 7, iPhone 6s, or iPhone 6. A new iPhone Xr, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s Plus, or iPhone 6 Plus. And if you want a new iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, or iPhone X, you'll need to pay $269.

This new AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss plan isn't cheap, but if you're concerned that your pricey smartphone could get stolen or that you could lose it, it is nice to have the option of buying this insurance plan. That way if something bad does happen, you won't have to pay $1,000 to get a brand new device.
