  • The Samsung Galaxy Watch received its second update today.
  • The update includes improved reliability of battery charging, music playback, and the overall experience.
  • The update is available in the U.S., with other regions to follow.

Mixed in all the hoopla of the Galaxy Note 9 was the Galaxy Watch, Samsung’s latest attempt at a smartwatch that runs its own Tizen OS and features a rotating bezel. Today’s update for the Galaxy Watch is certainly a minor one, but one that owners will nonetheless appreciate.

Reported by SamMobile, the update weighs in at a little over 28MB and improves the reliability of battery charging and music playback. We have not seen any major battery charging or heating issues with the Galaxy Watch, so the update looks to mitigate that just in case something pops up.

The update also includes improvements to the overall usability and experience, but does not detail what those improvements look like. This is not a feature-packed update, as you can probably surmise by now. Even so, the improvements tidy up what was already a feature-packed experience.

Finally, the update bumps up the Tizen OS version to 4.0.0.1 and is available for the 42mm and 46mm Galaxy Watch variants. Those in the U.S. can download the update through the Galaxy Wearable app, though folks in other regions will have to wait a bit longer for the update.

When we checked out the Galaxy Watch, our only concessions were that Bixby is a dumpster fire and that the storage amount was anemic. They were not enough to prevent us from naming the Galaxy Watch one of the best smartwatches available.
